PROJECT: AHVAZ METRO LINE 1
In Ahvaz the first metro line of a future metro network will be constructed. This first line will be from north-east to south-west through the city center of Ahvaz crossing the river Karun.
The metro line has a total length of 22,5 km, which consists of 14 km of underground insertion in the central sections and 8,5 km at grade insertion in the suburban sections. This line is consisted of 23 stations.
The underground alignment can be divided in three sections:
- The southern section (Lot I): from Kargar Square to University Square with a length of 4,18 km;
- The central section: from University Square to Darvazeh Square with a length of 6,39 km;
- The northern section (Lot II): from Darvazeh Square to Airport Square with a length of 3,39 km.
Arthe Civil & Structure bv has in cooperation with Movares for the construction company Alamoot Bridge & Building Engineering Co. in one of the first Iran design & construct – projects a complete tender design, design approach and method statement drawn up, as well as the tender documents as the technical qualification documents for Lot I and Lot II.
The tender design concerns a cut & cover – tunnel with slurry walls in stead of sheet piles due the soil circumstances for Lot I and Lot II as well. Lot I and Lot II have both 5 underground stations. These underground stations are designed as stations with and without mezzanine.
