Desk study for the planning Phase
In the planning phase of the tunnelling project, we can identify critical engineering and geotechnical issues, define design information needs, assess overall project feasibility, and provide preliminary cost estimates.
Site Investigation
Prior to design and engineering of the tunnel or underground construction, geotechnical issues and other information required for the design should be identified, for this we can offer the following services:
- Site reconnaissance and (engineering) geological mapping;
- Layout and supervision of site-investigation programmes including set-up of in-situ and laboratory-testing programmes;
- Geological characterization and set-up of a geotechnical framework for excavation design and risk assessment.
Geotechnical and structural design and engineering services
Arthe Civil & Structure bv has extensive experience with state-of-the art engineering of tunnelling and underground constructions, which includes:
- Selection of optimal excavation method, including risk-based modeling of excavation system performance;
- Subsidence evaluation of chosen excavation method, based on state-of-the art 3-D modeling methods, assessment of possible influence on surroundings;
- Drawing up of geotechnical design reports and set-up of a geotechnical monitoring programme;
- Design of ground support and monitoring systems, geotechnical instrumentation for support performance verification;
- Assessment of possible seepage and design of possible control measures;
- Project planning, cost and schedule estimates, and specification/bid document preparation.
Services During Construction
During construction we can offer an extensive spectrum of services ranging from geotechnical monitoring to management of construction. In addition we offer training programmes for the various disciplines, relevant to tunnel- and underground excavation and construction. Our services include:
